Greetings from Diamond Mountain!
Summer is well underway, and our grapes are growing happily in the warm weather. We hope you've been enjoying the summer with friends and family as we have.
Cheers,
Ed and Irene Ojdana

Following bud break in late March, our cabernet sauvignon vines began the flowering of small petal clusters that were then pollinated and fertilized. Almost immediately, a seed was formed and then a grape berry (a process known as "fruit set"), to protect the seed, growing from tiny green spheres to something more recognizable as clusters.
We are looking forward to observing the beautiful colors of veraison, the onset of ripening when the grapes grow in size, their color changes from green to purple, and their hard berries soften as they gain sugars. |

Movie Night at Chappellet
Ed and I attended a movie night for the screening of Walk the Line, the 2005 Johnny Cash biopic, which won an Academy Award for Best Actress, Reese Witherspoon, and a Golden Globe for Best Actor, Joaquin Phoenix. The outdoor evening on the beautiful Chappellet grounds on Pritchard Hill was donated by Michelle and Robin Baggett; Blakesley and Cyril Chappellet; and Elaine and Rick Jones.
