Then: Although the vineyard was planted in 2001, 2009 was the first vintage released commercially. The wine shows classic Diamond Mountain intensity, with firm tannins and intensely concentrated blackberry, currant and cocoa flavors. Now: Hints of cedar, chocolate, clove, cola, and black fruits on the nose. Very smooth and rich on the palate, with loads of black fruit and currants framing a really nice, long finish. The finish is long and smooth now, but it will continue to age gracefully for years to come.
