Greetings
from
Diamond Mountain!
Winter
has been a wet one! Lots of snow for skiers but, more
importantly, the reservoirs are full and the drought appears to be
over. No snow this year at Vineyard 511, but it brought back
memories of the last snow we had - see vineyard update below.
Happy Valentine's Day!
Cheers,
Ed and Irene Ojdana

New
Year, New Vintage
We have been patiently waiting for our 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon to
complete its aging process - 30 months in 100% French oak plus 1 year
in
the bottle - and the wait is almost over! We will be releasing
our 2013 vintage in mid-March, so keep an eye out for details to
come.

Vineyard
{511} Carneros Chardonnay
We're proud to share that we've
received tons of praise for our new Vineyard {511}
Carneros Chardonnay, which we released in October 2016.
"We
just shared this bottle with some friends and it was gone
immediately! Also, they want some bottles for themselves. It was just
delicious."

Remembering
the Great Snow of 2002
Once in a great while, Napa is visited by the snowman. Last
visiting in 2002, the snowman created some beautiful scenes throughout
the valley. Here's one from Vineyard {511}.

Napa
Valley Film Festival (NVFF)
In November, the 6th annual Napa Valley Film Festival (NVFF) kicked off
a week of 120 prestigious screenings with celebrities, culinary
demonstrations, wine tastings, winery dinners, industry panels, and
parties in 13 venues up down the picturesque four villages of Napa
Valley--Napa, Yountville, St. Helena, and Calistoga. Additionally, in
fulfilling its mission as a non-profit organization, the Festival
brought hundreds of Napa County students to the Lincoln Theater to
screenings of documentaries to inspire them about the art of
independent filmmaking.

Vineyard
{511} 2016 Harvest Party
As the leaves were slowly changing from green to orange in Napa Valley,
our good friends gathered in our outdoor entertainment area in
mid-October to celebrate our 2016 Harvest and to toast the release of
our new and delicious Vineyard
{511} 2015 Carneros Chardonnay. It was such a hit, we couldn't pour
enough of it! It is available to our wine club members and at wine
dinners.

On
Someone Else's Nickel
Playing tennis in the Volley in the Valley tournament, a fundraiser for
the St. Helena Hospital Foundation, we met Tim Ryan,
an award-winning sports commentator. Tim's career included
broadcasting NHL hockey, NFL football, boxing, and ski racing at the
Olympic games. His recently released book, On Someone Else's Nickel, chronicles his career
and provides some fascinating insights into the personalities of many
well-known sports figures. We were lucky to have Tim discuss his
book at our 2016 Harvest Party, where he really enjoyed our 2012
Diamond Mountain District Cabernet Sauvignon. Tim also graduated
from the
University of Notre Dame, so he has a lot in common with Ed.
