With only 500 acres of grapevines, the Diamond Mountain District is the smallest sub-AVA within Napa Valley.  Its white ash, volcanic soil creates a distinct, identifying taste and feel to the mouth.  This 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon, harvested on October 12, 2018, was aged in new French oak barrels for 30 months.  Winemaker Rob Lloyd recently tasted the wine and noted the following: "Wow, this wine just jumps out of the glass with notes of baking spices, cocoa and a hint of chocolate.  The entry is bright red fruit, with the cocoa and blackberry fruit coming later.  The finish is a rich, long journey that keeps making me come back for another sip. This wine is just starting to show its beauty and will keep showing and improving for a long time, getting richer and richer."
